LEWISVILLE, TX –Earmark’s David Stein realized several years ago that consumers were craving explosive sound and sophisticated marine audio systems as they were craving the wave. To capitalize on that trend, Earmark
opened a dedicated marine audio location near Lake Lewisville in 2005. Stein told The 12 Volt News, “We have been so busy. Right now, we are keeping eight installers busy with our marine business. Ski boats are so popular right now. We generally have four instllations in progress in our shop area all the time – generally 24’ and less.” Stein continued, “We have mobile crews that do on-site installations on larger boats. Plasma screens, high-end navigation, radar and instrumentation are growth areas on larger vessels and houseboats.” Stein’s philosophy since founding Earmark Car Audio in the 1980s, has always been to stay away from “plain vanilla.” Always do the job the right way with an added touch and accent. To that end, the Earmark showroom in Lewisville is filled with custom-made grilles, accent lighting, color-matched components and the latest accessories – including iPod integration on the water. The boating season is in full swing and AutoSound and Security is riding the wave.
Dan
Fritz, owner of the two store Dallas/Lewisville, TX-based business,
told The 12 Volt News, “We have been installing systems in boats
since 1991. It’s a lot different today than back then. There are
so many more products to choose from. The product is much more sophisticated
and so is the customer.” When The 12 Volt News stopped by the AutoSound location in Lewisville, there was a marine audio installation in progress in each of the four install bays. A Malibu, a Correct Craft, a Supra and a Moomba were all being outfitted with high-powered sound systems and light packages.
